It stems from the reputation of the companies selling these rather than the countries they originated from.
No one denies that there is a commercial advantage in entertainment / cultural exports, but in terms of being able to leverage it as actual power, I think the judge is still out.

China can ban Italian / French luxury products in a second & as with Korea, there is nothing those countries can do about it; that’s not power, that’s dependency - Italy / France has to keep on China’s positive side to keep selling these products, and actually China gains more leverage on them via this than the other way around.

Compare this with ideological power, for example democracy. The US can actually get people to overthrow their governments over such ideas; so that’s actual power they can and have leveraged all over the world.

Saw on Genshin reddit with the Chinese source that claims in 2022 Mihoyo had 27.34 Billion Yuan in revenue and 16.145 Billion Yuan in net profit.

2022年,公司主营业务收入273.40亿元,净利润161.45亿元,截至2022年底净资产374.02亿元。

Given that the one of the founder of Mihoyo is a CPC member, maybe PacificCod's infamous Genshin Waifu defection scheme isn't so absurd after all? Wanwanese do have a large exploitable weeb population, a couple billion is nothing for the PLA's psychological warfare division.

“All public and private secondary schools must have Mandarin Chinese language classes” — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education!

Minimum two classes a week.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education has instructed all public and private secondary schools in the Kingdom to implement the program of teaching Mandarin Chinese language at the rate of two classes per week. According to the ministry’s directive, the fourth period of every Sunday and Monday shall be assigned to facilitators to teach this language and that this shall be included in the academic time table.

The education departments across the Kingdom are making the necessary preparations to implement the Chinese language enrichment program for second year students of secondary schools within the proficiency classes during a semester in the current academic year. The semester will be rotated among the students of the second grade of secondary schools during the academic year.

There will be targeted number of schools for teaching Chinese under each educational department. The Ministry of Education will encourage facilitators in the process of teaching the language. This is part of the implementation of the third phase of the application of the tracks system that includes teaching Chinese, new courses, graduation project, elective field, guidance for proficiency classes, hybrid education, and volunteering.

The ministerial guide, supplied to the educational departments, emphasized that educational departments would allot at least one proficiency class per week in the entire semester, to implement the Chinese language program, and assign it to a facilitator, whose role is limited to support and guide students for self-learning. The program then will be re-applied on a new section of students for each semester, and materials for special enrichment will be provided for application together with evaluation tools.

How do we feel about cheerleading in China?
This video is from Xinhua douyin?
Between those styles I prefer the classic and tradional style more than the average tiktok thot cheerleader style.

It's like having to choose between that beautiful choreographed mainland chinese new year gala versus Taiwan stripper act gala dance.

I think the tradional and classic style will travel further and longer than the semi stripper act people will forgot about in like an hour because the internet is full of it.

I think the traditional style looks good, but weird for cheerleading and the audio doesn't match well. The cheerleaders in Hangzhou Asian games had almost every style imaginable, maybe this event was just a test.
I recall there were even cheerleaders in bikinis for some beach volley event?
