Reminder again that China's shipbuilding industry expanded bigly from 2014 to 2023 (going over 50% global market share). This year, they have grown even more.

It seems like they now have won 36 of the LNG carriers that Qatar put on bid. So China has continued to win more of the higher end shipbuilding market from the Koreans

There are only 2 nationality on the planet, Chinese and foreigners, 50% is just the passing grade that breaks foreign monopoly, China has to achieve at least 75% global share to have a secure lead over foreigners.

The world's largest (and China's first) LNG powered trailing suction hopper dredger has been delivered. It has a volume capacity of 15,000 cubic meters.

The CSSC has debuted a container ship design with a staggering 27500-TEU capacity - The largest ever - At SMM Hamburg lately.

At present, the largest container ship has a capacity of 24000+ TEU.

Elsewhere, the world’s largest port, Ningbo-Zhoushan, has just started construction of its latest berths, with the port revealing the two new facilities are being designed in order to accommodate 32,000 teu ships. To the south, Yantian, the eastern Shenzhen port, is also building new berths capable of handling 32,000 teu vessels.
