6艘!全球首单!150000立方米极大型乙烷运输船(ULEC)建造合同】8月26日,中国船舶集团旗下江南造船与Eastern Pacific Shipping Pte. Ltd.(EPS)签订6艘全球最大150000立方米极大型乙烷运输船(ULEC)建造合同,江南造船也成为全球首家承接15万立方米ULEC订单的船厂。

该型船是江南造船自主研发设计的最新一代ULEC,其货物围护系统采用法国GTT公司的Mark Ⅲ薄膜式围护系统,并以路易斯安纳州的州花“MAGNOLIA(木兰花)”命名。该型船能够最大限度利用美国乙烷终端水域条件从而达到舱容最大化。该型船入级美国船级社(ABS),配置的货物围护系统能够适应装载乙烷、乙烯和液化石油气(LPG),同时具备液化天然气就绪(LNG Ready)能力,为船舶在整个生命周期里提供了最大的货品装载灵活性和适应性

JiangNan signed a deal with Eastern Pacific shipping for 6 ULEC (ultra large ethane carrier), 150k cubic meter.

Looks to be ready to carry ethane, ethylene and LPG and is LNG ready.

They keep climbing up to top of shipbuilding value chain.

Reading it, seems pretty much the parallel move to the merger of CNR and CSR to (re-)form CRRC. As part of the economic reforms in the Hu Jintao-era, those state owned railway enterprises were formed into 2 units to provide domestic competition. Now as the competition is globalized and more international business is being pursued, they were merged. Sounds like the same kind of thing but for ships.
