AMEC plans to invest 3.05 billion Yuan in Chengdu.
AMEC issued an announcement stating that it plans to invest in the establishment of a wholly-owned subsidiary, AMEC Semiconductor Equipment (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. (the specific name is subject to approval by the market supervision and management department at that time) in Chengdu Hi-tech Zone to build a research and development and production base and a southwest headquarters project.
The announcement shows that the investment target, China Micro Semiconductor Equipment (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., will be established in February 2025 with a registered capital of 100 million yuan. The project will cover an area of about 50 mu, and the construction will include a research and development center, a production base and supporting facilities.
The project is scheduled to start construction in 2025 and go into production in 2027. From 2025 to 2030, the total investment in the project will be about 3.05 billion yuan.
AMEC said that the project company will carry out the research and development and production of chemical vapor deposition equipment,
atomic layer deposition equipment and other key equipment for high-end logic and storage chips. The implementation of the project will help the company expand the scope of its integrated circuit equipment business, enhance its technology research and development capabilities, and increase its market share.
