Chinese semiconductor thread II

this is unreal here. Look at that power to temperature ratio. It's hard to imagine a better radar material than this for the next decade.

With this type of RF, they can presumably use it for other power applications too.

Do people realize what we are looking at here?

looks like 南京电子器件研究所 is CETC 55th institute, which does a lot of the power/RF semiconductor research.

13x reduction is just bonkers!

Taiwan PSMC partnered up in China built Nexchip.
It also partners up with tata to build india first fab at 65nm . This would cost $11billion. That would double or triple the cost compared to China.
They will have touble to recoup their investment.
They have buy all brand new equipments since the refurbished ones mostly got snatched up already.

Why didnt they build 100% owned factory instead of partnering w an indian company? Is it a policy thing? I remember a CN company b4 having a JV also, but was allegedly "forced to sell majority control" to the indian partner eventually....

In Chinese colloquial linguistic context '国产' without any further qualifications means produced in China by a Chinese company. Glowy generally specifies the die manufacturer for each of their product. Since this particular product only says it's 国产 without specifing manufacturer it's reasonable to assume it's CXMT. Let's wait for reviews.
Another company, KingBank also launched a memory stick using the same chips. They also didn't mention the name of chip maker but unlike Gloway their listing had more stuff that indicates it's a completely domestic fab. The other indication is the price. In the same listing Gloway has multiple Samsung and Hynix based sticks of same specs as this domestic product but are more expensive than this.

D5 National Chip Shines, "Smart Manufacturing" Drives the Future

[Technological Innovation, Independent Control]
In the arena of memory chips, the emergence of domestic DDR5 memory is not only a technological breakthrough, but also a manifestation of domestic independent controllable capabilities. Although the frequency of 6000MHz and the timing of CL36 may not be the most dazzling star in the high-end market, its appearance represents a major breakthrough in domestic memory chip technology. This is a solid step for domestic memory chips to go from catching up to running side by side, and even leading. This is not only a technological advancement, but also a victory for domestic independent controllable capabilities. We believe that with the continuous advancement and optimization of technology, domestic DDR5 memory will show more outstanding performance and broader application prospects in the future.

Is there any on hand review of these products?

Actually, digging out some notes I had when 9000s first came out, I'm now confused by why Techinsights claimed "no change in process". The dimensions of 9000s process are:

CPP: 63nm, fin pitch: 33nm, metal pitch: 42nm

Now, I see some reports say that the dimensions of 9020 are:

CPP: 63nm, fin pitch: 31nm, metal pitch: 40nm

So, there is a reduction of transistor dimensions here. But, maybe they just feel these reductions are too incremental to call a "change in process". But anyway, these dimensions are still in 7nm territory, so it's fair to still call it N+2 and nothing more.
Can you give a link to a report like this? I’ve only read techinsights.

Yes, this does look legit. I think news of CXMT with DDR5 came out a while ago. Or at least TechInsight or TrendForce was reporting that they are starting production of this.

16GB DDR5 DRAM can be done with D1z process. So I would assume that CXMT is mass producing D1z die now for both DDR5 and LPDDR5.

Still waiting to hear if Mate 70 is using CXMT DRAMs.
