The U.S. is easing AI exports to the Middle East as China tries to recover from a drop in sales caused by a ban on the use of U.S.-made Nvidia chips in the Middle East.

Why would the US ease exports to the ME as China "tries to recover" from an US ban? That makes no sense.

The US is easing AI exports because China is beginning to replace NVIDIA in the domestic marketplace and the US is afraid that at some point MENA nations might move away from NVIDIA to the Ascend class or other Chinese made chips.

Yes, in a market where everyone has equal access.

The ME will buy Ascend or any other non-Western chip if the US restricts AI exports to the ME.

The US would not be easing restrictions if the ME does not have a choice.

When I read that I thought the three dimensional memory chip was HBM DRAM. But nope.
