S.Korea has tremendous innovation capacity but it is hamstrung by its small domestic market.
If S.Korea gets closer to and finally integrates with China's economy and technology then it turbocharged both China's and S.Korea's economies growth

Very good choice for S.Korea if true, of course we already had some hints when they released their defence (?) white paper where they showed a negative change towards Japan.

China should handsomely reward S.Korea and make it an example of good relations.
First stop is to finally have a peace declaration between North & South Korea.

However the problem is that the US will constantly try to sabotage this reapproachment
@voyager1 bro from my previous post, I mentioned that the US choose TSMC (Arizona FABS) over Samsung with major American Corp having their Chips FAB with TSMC for the lost of HW business, the implication if Huawei is able to nurture its relationship with Samsung the way they had with TSMC, that partnership may form a JV and may use SMEE or CETC EUVL in China.

Samsung is following the path of TSMC, it's setting up EUV fabs in Texas,.
For China semiconductor to fully rise, Korean Fabs in China need to be checked.
unless they willing to use Chinese equipments.

Is that just the fabs? Fabs dont matter, the only thing that matters is the IC equipment suppliers for lithography.

If Samsung wants to set up Fabs with non-US technology then it is welcome to do so. However China should set up a cap so that Samsungs doesn't eat all the domestic market by itself

@voyager1 @Oldschool , with Samsung experience and technical expertise may help SMEE or CETC improve their equipment. Just like TSMC had done with ASML.

then where is Huawei's sanction? Huawei would immediately back to business like before.,
Samsung uses the same equipments like TSMC. It could be sanctioned by US.
Are the sanctions only applied if they are using US technology?

Here what I found the only relevant part from the article
There are also reports that Samsung has partnered with Japanese and European manufacturers to build a smaller production line with non-US devices as the US increases restrictions on the technology component of the high-tech industry
It says "partnered" but it doesn't say if they have the production line ready to go.

If true, Washington must be panicking. What are they going to do? Ban Samsung products? OnePlus, TCL and Haier would be really happy about that.

If Washington sanctions Samsung, the global chip shortage will get worse.

But Samsung will still be able to sell everything it produces to China and the rest of the world.

China consumes about 25% of global semiconductors and exports another 35% to the rest of the world.

It would be the USA which takes the brunt of the additional shortages.

I think this might be possible but I dont see Fabs as a core technological pillar as I see IC equipment.

And from what I know Samsung does not have its own IC lithography equipment production line. For sure they could help SMEE and CETC with debugging and some tips here and there but I dont think they are needed so much.
