People were discussing how SMIC and Huawei were building a fab together.

That was the rumour. No wonder you will not let go of that! :p

I never said it was China hyping anything up.
I said news media and their reporting is stupid because it is intellectually false and misleading.

I do not particularly care as to how much their reporting advantages or disadvantages XYZ party, in this case I am only talking about their intellectual honesty.

Cmon, we all know the role of (western) media isn't about providing factual information.

You didn't say China was hyping up SSMB, I just meant that SCMP dropping these misleading stories might be on half of the SFA. How do you think Minnie Chan gets paid ;)

Huawei livestream launch event didn't announce the Mate 60! ??? o_O

SCMP is not an extension of the Chinese government.

As for the stupidity of media in general, sure that often doesn't need to be stated, but there is really no particular malice or deliberate intent to focus on SSMB rather than LPP efforts.


In this case, the poor reporting of this story is merely a reflection of incompetence rather than necessarily some sort of ulterior motive.
Which takes me back to how stupid it all is.
