Looks like MatePad Pro 13.2 will be using Kirin 9000S also

no real improvement over Mate 60, which is a surprise since you should theoretically be able to use a larger die (at least cpu portion) for pad and at least have no need for 5G modem. It's possible that they tried to keep it as the same chip in order to keep production easier for SMIC, which will help yield. Who knows

I will wait another day for the announcement

It’s ridiculous that Raimondo doubt that Huawei has achieved mass production when 9000S is being used for so many different types of Huawei products. It is the WS-10 of Chinese semiconductor at this stage.

she didn't doubt it ... just saying it to safe the face of US govt, as the US is no longer dare to add more sanctions ... she knew 9000s is mass produced

the US can keep up with sanctions still, but the purpose of such action is simply a result of their inability to do anything else. changing course now would be akin to admitting failure.

The US can still increase the pressure with the sanctions by, for example, pushing Japan into stopping sales of ArF photoresist and mask materials to China. But this will only make China increase its own production of ArF photoresist, which right now is only barely starting. And China can retaliate themselves by putting similar bans on sales of rare gases like neon. Right now, after the loss of Ukraine as a supplier, and Russia canning exports of neon, the world's semiconductor industry is depending on Chinese neon to continue to operate.

Interesting video, but I wonder why he didn't mention Tsinghua's SSMB EUV project, since it's basically the only serious FEL/synchrotron EUV light source being worked on right now. Does he really not know about the project?

He gives a good Wiki-level overview of a subject, pretty good if that's the level you'd like to know about a subject which let's be frank, is most subjects for most people. His videos don't add anything useful if you follow it a bit more in depth like on this board though, which is on the higher end for amateur level.

He usually goes quite a bit more in depth than wiki-level, but of course not to the detail that this forum goes into. But I still find him not mentioning the only FEL/synchrotron lithography project that's currently undergoing construction right now in China to be weird, it's not like there's any other countries seriously working on this concept right now. And there's the massive buzz about China's semiconductor industry over the last few weeks because of Huawei.

I almost feel like he left the SSMB EUV project out of the video on purpose.
