Imagine Huawei gaming GPU. They have their own mobile GPU. Imagine Huawei AI accelerator too. When China emerge as the leader of semiconductor the good design house will shine.
I wouldn't be surprised if Huawei would create a consumer/prosumer gpu cards after like 2025. I think they are well positioned at least better than Intel to do it. They have knowledge of gpu and AI accelators. If I see what Nvidia is doing with generative AI to fill in graphics data to speed up rendering, Huawei seems to comes the closest.

They also are the custodian of harmony OS if they only have to focus on harmony OS Vulcan driver support I think they can keep it quiet simple.

Consumer GPU is not worth the effort IMO. Nvidia's lead is just too strong. Even AMD is not competitive. Should stick with AI accelerators.

China's exports of germanium and gallium products in August plunged to zero, customs data showed on Wednesday, due to new export controls on the two chipmaking metals.

Beijing exported no wrought germanium products last month, compared to 8.63 metric tons in July when volumes more than doubled from June as overseas buyers rushed to lock in supply ahead of the curbs.

There were also no exports of wrought gallium products in August. In July, exports were 5.15 tons and 7.67 tons in the same month in 2022, the data showed.

...

Permit applications take around 45 working days to process, said a Chinese germanium trader and a germanium producer, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the matter.
US MOD will work around the issue by recycling iPhone chargers.

This is really great. detailing Apple's failures to design their own modem. Maybe the Qualcomm IPs are just too vast to get past. a lot of people say that Oppo gave up on its SoC plans due to outside threats, but Huawei Whisper talked about how difficult it was to get modem developed and Oppo wasn't able to do so.

Now, I see Xiaomi signing some kind of cooperation with Huawei. Maybe Huawei can supply its 5G modem to Xiaomi SoC. We will see.

As for GPU, i'm not sure HW needs to enter gaming GPU card market, but it goes beyond just gaming. Product would also be used in cloud GPU, metaverse and other things. Basically, Moore Threads has that market to itself right now
