From @WTAN and @tokenanalyst previous post about a rumor of SMEE SSA800 benchmarking against ASML NXT 2000i, I think we can say that the news can be true as YMTC is planning to sue ASML for damages incur with a possibility of ASML being sanction by China. The Chinese will not do this unless there is an alternative ready. From my mentor @Oldschool

Counterstrike against ASML maybe on the way.

The latest I heard is YMTC president said the company will sue ASML and ask it buy back all the ASML DUVs in China that it will refuse to provide service. If ASML refuse to buy back and refuse to provide service, YMTC would ask the court to void all ASML DUV IPs in China.

Hopefully the court would void ALL ASML IP in China including the EUV because it accepted payment and refuse to deliver.

Samething with US and Japanese equipments, Hopefully the court would void them all as well

After that, domestic equipments could come out without fear of being sued.

Anything goes.
If true, then it is a GIGA based move from YMTC. Cuck companies like Xiaomi could learn a thing or two.

Confirmation of SMIC 's 7nm capabilities with 50% yield rate. It also looks like Huawei's EDA has further advanced.


Before you scream yields, remember that TSMC' s 3nm nodes have a 55 % yield rate
this is still just a Nomura analyst making that assertion

From much better sources that I have access to, their yield is higher than that.

Remember, SMIC makes a batch of these chips and send them to HW and then another batch. The yield should be continuously improving. While at an earlier batch, it may have well been below 50%, but that's not the case anymore

The yields on 14nm are probably around 80-90% by now. Yields on 10nm are also probably decent since they have been manufacturing this process for several years. 7nm requires more passes and is likely to have lower yields. 50% yield is not unheard of for initial production in new processes. It would have been better if it was at least 60-70% but if the product is high value and low volume enough it can work.

On July 25, the foundation stone laying ceremony for the semiconductor diffusion equipment and material integration project of Taote Technology (Hefei) Co., Ltd. was officially held in Xinzhan High-tech Zone. While this is well and good in principle, it's a moot point because the premise is false
this is still just a Nomura analyst making that assertion

indeed core research and development did by finnish company but in 2018 this firm bought by Chinese firm now these machines manufacture in mainland.

interesting story here about domestic equipment being used in Hunan project

1st, 6-inch SiC project by CETC 48th institute using domestic SiC epitaxial growth equipment & high temp ion implantation machine. Have entered production

Another story about 8-inch IC project with 48th institute & hunan chuwei semi have started large scle production of 20k wpm using 95% domestic equipment and achieving 98% yield.

since this is 48th institute, like another RF or power related project
