Then China should give Germany a favor and put "import controls" on the chemicals that they already produce their own to help the profits of their own companies, if German politicians complain, the Chinese goverment should response "But we a helping you with your "export controls" so you can satisfy your masters in D.C."
they can also help Germany by blocking imports of other BASF products from Germany itself (BASF china plant is fine) and chips from Infineon. That way, Germany can be sure it's not supply any sensitive technology to China.

I posted on those tweets, but I really don't get it. They are not involved with photoresists. As I posted yesterday, Shanghai Sinyang already is capable of cleaning liquid for etching for 14nm and above. They also have production for etching solution.

@FairAndUnbiased can you help? What are these chemicals that they are talking about?

Semiconductors is a hugely complex industry, so either Germany actually exports some kind of little-known chemical, used in semiconductors, that China itself can't (or in enough quantity) produce itself, or Germany is firing blanks to appease the Americans.

Either way, Germany is just shooting at its foot with this move. Not unexpected for an American Empire territory, but still quite amusing to witness
