Your sarcasm aside, there's actually an important point to make here. China doesn't rush things. China always works patiently and methodically and gets all the details hammered out before moving ahead with anything. If China were the rushing type, we'd see it building more Type 003 carriers at a frenetic pace - what we instead see is China building one ship of the type, testing and verifying it before transitioning to more advanced nuclear powered carriers.yeahhh, no rush is needed
Other semi companies to think about
RA Chem (彤程新材)
so they are building a industrial zone in Shanghai that will produce 11000t of semiconductor and flat screen display photoresist and 20000t of associated part. They also have an ASML lithography machine to test out their product
They started mass producing KRF photoresist for SMIC in 2021 and supply 5% of SMIC supplies. They were looking to construct a ARF high end R&D platform by the end of this year. I don't know why they are so fast with KRF, but so slow with Arfi photoresist. Looks like they got into KRF pretty early, but will be one of the later ones into Arfi.
One things that's kind of good to see is just how many companies have gotten into this. I'm a little surprised Sinopec hasn't gotten involved here given how prominent they are in China's chemical industry. Given the # of Japanese suppliers, it's good for competition for there to be several Chinese ones also.
Jiangsu Yoke Technology (雅克科技) - have clients CXMT, YMTC, Samsung, Intel, TSMC & SMIC
Looks like they do cleaning solution after polishing & post etching cleaning solution.
Dinglong Chemical(鼎龙股份) - makes CMP polishing pad for YMTC, CXMT, SMIC & Huahong. Also doing cleaning liquid & polishing fluid
Huate Gas (华特气体) - Create various IC gases for YMTC, SMIC, CR Micro and others. I think they were qualified for ASML a while back
Jinhong Gas (金宏气体) - develops ultra pure ammonia & high purity Nitrous Oxide.
China does rush things when there is need. For example atom bomb during 1960s.Your sarcasm aside, there's actually an important point to make here. China doesn't rush things. SSMB is not the sole contender for EUV lithography. It's a late entrant; very promising but with question marks hanging over it. I expect the first generation of Chinese EUVL tools to use LPP with SSMB appearing later in the decade.
Exactly. It is future proof. However, it is much easier to produce soft X-rays than EUV, so it won't be necessary. Like, we're talking household 1 kW power in, 300 W out, rather than power plant 100 kW in, 300 W out.So if china can crack the x-ray mask and x-ray photo resist problems in the future China can just upgrade those newly built EUV infrastructure to X-ray light source infrastructure?
