New YMTC products continue to go on sale despite certain Western brainiacs that they would not be operational in 3 months.

江波龙 (Longsys) has come out with 2 new products Longsys ORCA 4836 NVMe、Longsys UNCIA 3836 SATA, both made using 128 layers 3D TLC from YMTC

Keep in mind, Gloway and Xiaomi both came out with products that use YMTC in the past 2 weeks. That was preceded by YMTC releasing the 2TB version of TiPlus7100 3 weeks ago. YMTC is alive and kicking really hard.

This is probably going to freak some people out in Washington.

YMTC's 232 layer XTacking 3.0 product is going into new Acer Predator GM7 SSD product.

Also Lenovo's new Xiaoxin 2023 edition notepad pro and air are using YMTC 1TB SSD by Union Memory's AM6A1 SSD

It's hard to stop quality product from going into sales.

Haha this never gets old.

YMTC is pretty much Carl. Cucked hard but back on his feet and denying the abuser satisfaction.

I'm gonna post this every time there is a major YMTC breakthrough.

Now Loongson has officially announced that it has taped out 2K1500, which is double core at 1GHz with low power consumption. Looks to be a chip for industrial control.

Loongson has announced quite a few projects recently. My sense is that 2022 was a major year for them in developing a line of competitive product and they will do better commercially in 2023.

More on Loongson. I'm trying to figure out if this is the real case with Loongson for much of 2021/2022.
Now, MIPS is bad and they certainly had a lot of work to do to get LoongArch ISA developed and into the current state

I do think they made a mistake not exporting it to Russia. Why not allow other countries to use it if it can broaden the pool of developers?

Anyhow, they seem to have come out with a broad set of CPUs in 2022 after they determined that LoongArch has good performance, compatible with MIPs, ARMS and X86 through translation and doesn't infringe on any copyright (they have full license). With these changes, it seems like 3A5000 is the first somewhat competitive CPU they developed using LoongArch.

Within just a year and half, they finished the designs for 3A6000 and measured it's performance to 30 to 60% better than 3A5000 despite using similar generation of process (3A5000 uses SMIC 14nm, 3A6000 uses SMIC 12nm like 3C5000). My guess is that N+1 capacity at SMIC is limited and doesn't have great yield, so 12nm process is the one with enough spare capacity at high yield. So the fact they can get this kind of CPU improvement on the most advanced mature SMIC process is a pretty big deal. Phytium/Hygon processors probably all require N+1 to get similar performance bump.

Most recently, they told us 3A6000 is getting taped out and have yet to start sales. I'm assuming they will officially put it on sale at around middle of next year. 3A7000 development hasn't started. Guess they want to put this on SMIC's N+1 process. Again, notice the massive drop in revenue YoY (down 37.55 for Q1 to Q3).

So given what they've done so far, I now have higher outlook for Loongson/LoongArch in the future. Given sanctions with ARM, it's probably desirable for Chinese chip makers to concentrate on both RISC-V and LoongArch.

Huate Gas announced on the evening of January 5, 2023 that the company's excimer laser gas products passed the 193nm test of ExciStar laser from Coherent (Coherent) Germany, and obtained the qualified supplier certification letter from Coherent (Coherent) in the United States.
How nice of China to be saving the butts of the combined West, so they have enough excimer gas to make chips after they stopped being able to buy from Ukraine and stopped purchases from Russia. Man, China is just way too soft. They should push these dolts into at least weakening some of the sanctions on Chinese semiconductors if they wanted to get the gas.

And now to look at some of the recent domestic bids for CPUs.

first from sinopec, it short listed Loongson, Phytium and Zhaoxin for its desktop terminal equipment purchases

中交集团 (China communication construction) shortlisted computers using Phytium and Loongson CPU for GP office computer procurement

Looks like Southern power is using Phytium CPU and Kylin OS on its computers.

This is from Loongson's own announcements. Seems like they scored some major deals recently.

From education enterprise, they got 10k from Zhejiang, 25k from Shanxi and 9k from Henan along with several thousands for other schools.
They got an order of over 70 4 way server using 3C5000 CPU from Xiong'an (Hebei) for their cloud server.

They also talked about the short listing from Sinopec, CCCC and a major communication operator, but I don't think that's included in the order of 60k they talked. But overall, this is still not a lot of orders compared to Phytium and Hygon. It is a good start. Given the huge domestic desktop replacement program of 50 million computers, there is a huge market for them to participate in next year. and there is also the cloud server market that they can finally participate in with 3C5000 and 3D5000.
