How big are SMIC's stockpiles (some report claimed they built up for a couple years or so)?

That's be enough to time to adapt 14nm, N+1 and N+2 to Tokyo Electron/Naura/AMEC.

I take this kind of "I have heard news" with a grain of salt.

I uploaded the photo from Wang Xing, but seems the link has problem.

Consider Wang Xing is CEO of Meituan, I guess his words has some reliability.

No one is allowed to work with these companies if they use US equipment.

That is the problem.

The semi business extremely capital intensive, means if half of a company assets become useless then the give company immediately goes into bankruptcy.

Of course other side it questioning the benefit to give free loan to the USA in the form of trade surplus.

If there is nothing interesting to buy with the freshly printed money then what is the purpose of the trade surplus ? Makes it possible to send the children of Chinese government officials to the USA ?

Gee you forgot all the salary paid to the worker for the export economy allowing million of Chinese to enjoy middle class living for first time in History, Improvement in China's industries across the board, building supply chain network again employing million of Chinese.

Advance the high technology industries employing million of Universtities graduate and advance the military

Providing tax base for cities, regions, province to built infrastructure and provide social service. You reading too much western propaganda It is not only the Communist cadre who benefit from export economy but million of average people.

Problem with surplus is how is best to use them China did try to use it for the benefit of poor countries with BRI etc but it also pitfal of mismanagement and poor allocation of aid

There is no difference between shipping goods to the USA without any compensation or dumping the manufactured products into the sea.

If shipping goods without anything in return did miracles then the USA is only an unnecessary element in the chain. The sea should be as good : D

Logical problem : if China has USA treasuries then China didn't spent the money for mines, oilfields and so on. It means all China did give away the manufactured good for free.
