I don't know if there is a drop. Is full year 2021 vs half year 2022.
Eventually the comparison should be done vs first half year 2021
There are reports that TSMC is idling EUV machines due to lack of demand.

Absolutely not. I do not want to get in trouble on social media and catch the eyes of any 3 letter organizations. I'm just a fanboy sitting at home with a real day job.Sir is this your YT channel? From @Oldschool old post he said 80 units last year and in the first quarter of this year 23 units were delivered, so I think they will able to match last year delivery for 2022.

Sir from what I know the ongoing construction of SMIC FAB in Beijing, Shenzhen and Tianjin may use Domestic equipment, Shanghai Lin Gang Area may use both with ASML, while the SN1 and SN2 FABS are mostly ASML.I think based on what we've been updated with, China probably bought around 60 to 70 DUVs in the past 18 months. Which would indicate they are not stocking up lithography machines. They are just buying what's need for the SMSC/SMNC factory expansion and the new plant in Beijing and Shenzhen. I looked pretty hard at this. It seems like all reporting of their advanced process progress basically stopped in Q2 of 2021. That was also when they likely started small trial production of N+1 process and right before that bit mining ASIC chip started production. Looks like SMIC has decided that they need to stay out of media attention. Although given the escalating tension since the "7nm news", I wouldn't be surprised if America pushes forward with so much sanctions in this sector that SMIC start to reveal more information. Pretty soon, we should be getting reports of mass production of Chinese chips using SMIC N+1 process. It's not like they can hide this forever.
yeah, they use ASML for SMIC FAB on Shanghai and Beijing. That means the 28NM machine probably uses foreign components, just not American ones.
