This is very important. While it looks on the surface like many small companies are involved in manufacturing instruments, MFCs, valves, seals, fittings, etc in actuality most are fully controlled subsidiaries of gigantic (western) multinationals like MKS, Spectris, Leybold, etc. or are just distributors and rebranders of their OEM products.

There are very few independent manufacturers and indeed, AMAT, LAM, TEL, etc. themselves depend on external suppliers.

Fei Mian Instrument Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in September 2012.

Since its establishment, the company has established a corporate culture of "independence, innovation, persistence, and integrity" as its core. On the development road of technology research and innovation, the company's business direction covers vacuum technology, low temperature technology, thin film preparation and The four major components of plasma technology have rich technology accumulation and mature product lines in various fields, and representative products have been widely used in universities and laboratories around the world.
The company has won the titles of high-tech enterprise and patent pilot unit. In the direction of molecular beam epitaxy, the goal of Fermian Instruments is to provide products and solutions covering the entire periodic table of elements, so it has invested a lot of R&D and After testing, the technical indicators of the current products have fully reached the indicators of similar foreign products, effectively solving the problem of "stuck neck".
Fei Mian Instruments will continue to deepen the field of molecular beam epitaxy, invest more resources to optimize the user-friendliness of products, and expand products to the field of production molecular beam epitaxy. There is a long way to go, Feimian Instruments will be based in Shanghai, look to the world, serve the global market, and move towards a more brilliant future!

Huawei is scoring 5G and cloud wins in Middle East – next it wants to do ‘green’

Aviation and green digital projects are where Chinese tech giant sees future potential

Dubai: Enabling 5G networks and cloud services – for Huawei’s enterprise push in the UAE and Middle East markets, these are the two pillars to build on. A third pillar, of course, comes by way of the smartphone and accessories, which keeps adding more users to Huawei’s vision of an always-on consumer universe.

But it is on the enterprise side that the Chinese tech giant keeps checking out the big wins. Cases in point were 5G-related contracts from e& and du, and which should keep Huawei busy with the planning and execution in the near-term

Of equal significance was a project win with Dubai South, the builder behind the 145 square kilometre multi ‘district’ development (and the site for District 2020). Shunli Wang, Vice-President of Huawei Middle East, gives an update on how the rest of 2022 will likely shape up for the company.

Summary:
The monthly FinFET capacity is 15,000
N+1 is in mass production
N+2 trial production is planned for late 2022 but it may not be real 7 nm too.
@BoraTas Sir What's your take regarding N+2, from my understanding of Liang Meng Song address it's equivalent to TSMC 7nm DUVL chips, maybe they're cautious to avoid attention. cause for me when it walk like a 7nm chip , talk like a 7nm chip , perform like a 7nm chip then it's a 7nm chip.

Liang Mengsong's statement

China's semiconductor industry has always wanted to achieve corner overtaking, but Liang Mengsong made it clear before that: "The integrated circuit manufacturing industry does not have corner overtaking and leap forward. If the foundation is not laid, all previous efforts will be abandoned."

The reason why SMIC was able to enter the trial production of 7nm chips so quickly, Liang Mengsong is a very critical factor, but when SMIC announced the trial production of 7nm chips, it happened at the moment when the relevant restrictions were the most restrictive. It limits its development process to a large extent.

SMIC has never made a clear statement that the chip produced by the N+1 process is 7nm, and then the N+2 process was exposed, indicating that this is not the 7nm chip we expected, just like the performance in related performance, which is just similar to 7nm chips, so the real 7nm process may have to be completed after the trial production of the N+2 process.

SMIC does not differentiate between FinFET processes in their shareholder reports.
14nm, N+1, N+2 would all be in the same category.
We do know N+1 is in production because we had reports of it a long time ago.
The production facilities for FinFET at SMIC were supposed to have doubled in capacity in amount of wafers per month. Because of US sanctions and the semiconductor shortage SMIC changed their plans to increase production for older processes instead of investing in doubling FinFET capacity. ASML also seems to be a major bottleneck in getting lithography tools right now. So it might simply be that SMIC decided not to put N+2 into production. The lower the resolution the more process steps you will need and you will basically get reduced wafer output. It might be that they decided to focus on 14nm and N+1 (i.e. 10nm) for existing clients since those have higher production rate given existing limited capacity.
