@tokenanalyst Bro this is what I dream of, Western Company using Chinese equipment, I hope UMC, SK ,Hynix, Samsung and TSMC operating in China adopt Chinese equipment, it's a win win, its cheaper with easy accessible to raw materials , the supply chain and of course sanction proof.

Yes, that is the biggest fear of today's big SME companies, that's why they oppose more sanctions, it's not just losing the Chinese market, the real problem is that any company that gets big in China will get big globally just because of the size of the growing Chinese semiconductor market. The R&D investment of semiconductor companies in China is now quite similar to that of their peers in the West, I think Naura and Amec are spending close to 30% on R&D, very close to their peers, that means technically their equipment will only get better and more competitive, that could put a lot of pressure on current established SME companies because semi fabs outside of China could consider buying Chinese equipment to cut costs for example.
I say it before, the US sanctions are really boosting the Chinese semiconductor industry like never before.

The AMEC figures are interesting. There has been a significant switch from Capital R&D investment to Expenditure R&D investment

The implication is that they were still building up their R&D infrastructure from the prior year.

How is the state of the chinese semiconductor industry in general? Is it falling behind schedule?

I saw some articles about YMTC and how they were successful with their 128 layer NAND but later also saw something about their yield not being high enough

CXMT seems to be going steady with DRAM though its market share is still low and node still behind competitors

Also heard something about how SMEE's latest fab machine has failed certification

Really interesting Chinese company dedicated to make equipment for epitaxy growth, which is necessary for 3D NAND and other very advanced node logic.

Jiangsu Tianxin Micro Semiconductor Equipment Co., Ltd. was established in August 2019 with an initial investment of several hundred million yuan. Focusing on the research and development of semiconductor front-end key process machines, the first product is the front-end epitaxy equipment in IC manufacturing, which is widely used in the production of logic chip foundry, 3D NAND storage products, and many power devices for advanced processes of 28nm and below. .
The core members of the team are from world-renowned semiconductor equipment companies, with more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, and have presided over and participated in the research and development and verification of various front-end process equipment. The technology nodes cover the whole life cycle of 65nm~3nm. At present, more than 50% of the team have a master's degree or above, and more than 50 invention patents are pending.
After the project is put into production, it can achieve an annual output of 20 epitaxy equipment. Break the monopoly of foreign semiconductor equipment companies in this field and become a reliable equipment manufacturer that provides epitaxy mass production machines in China.
