I think they are from Qingdao China that may explain the name and Huawei Hubble investment looks like took them very seriously.

IMO Don’t think that statement was directed for public but the investors. I kinda doubt ASML was really all that clueless about the progress China was making. I am sure they knew something to a degree but had to publicly say the opposite due to investors and potentially geopolitical pressure.
ASML's overvalued stock price is predicated in large part on its (at least perceived) monopoly of EUVL. They're not going to say anything that could jinx that.

For now. When overlay issues are solved it could compete with optical lithography with the advantage that doesn't need complex optics or high expensive light sources.

That is a purely marketing article by canon since they have lost to the competition so bad. What makes you think that the industry will change the entire patterning process . Tsmc likes asml . They have a very bad relationship with the Japanese vendors.
