I have worked in/for/around the defense Industry for almost 37 years and worked on numerous very large programs.

I do understand...including everything you say.

I just will not believe the deal is done until the Chinese announce it. As I have said maybe four times now.

As I say, I will be excited when that day finally comes...if it does come.

Get back to me when that happens. Otherwise, you are perfectly free to disagree with me, not believe what I am saying, etc., etc.

But do not presume to tell me what I do and do not understand.

Oh, I am aware and have been watching this 'deal' unfold for years now. But there is usually method to the madness. It makes sense that if this continues to be smoke in regard to a Chinese procurement, then there must be another reason for these proclamations out of Russia. I.e. Advertisement and Leverage to influence other traditional Russian arms clients. In this case/theory India. Possibly.

I am not placating you, i apologize if you feel offended, but my intention was not offend you. it has been reported the next years are the deliveries, starting from 2016, so by November 2016 you will have the first Su-35s, skepticism is not bad and you can keep it, for me is a done deal and i am sure the deal is true because not only Rostec confirmed it but Tass is saying they were assured the deliveries are next year.

I can not wait until the next year to see the su-35 in PLAAF colors i love the Su-35

I think they will make a total of 16 Su-35s a year, 8 for Russia and 6-8 for China

Yep...we know that.

We have had people around here for years saying it was a done deal. Which is exactly my point for the...what? sixth time now?

You have been on SD since December 2014...so you would not have seen this unless you are a re-tread.

So, there is no need to keep trying to convince me. None whatsoever.

I already indicated what it would take...and it will not come from you, or any Russian firm, or any Russian spokesperson or inside leak, etc., etc.

When the Chinese themselves officially announce it...meaning the PRC and CCCP...then I will be happy to hear it.

My own research and sources in the industry tells me this time is very likely the real deal.
No smoking gun but let's just say of ALL the rumors in the past 5 years circling this topic, this recent news is by far the MOST credible.
But, just like many here regardless of the credibility factor, I'll hold my breath until I see 'official' announcement by the actual powers that be.

All you have to do is look back at Pinkov's statement who first reported this to which everyone else grabbed onto it. He claimed China wanted the Su-35 because the PLAAF recognized all their domestic programs were inferior and they needed this superior to all their aircraft fighter. The deal was hanging over intellectual property rights. Russia knows the days China as a large customer to their aircraft is over and in fact will be a competitor. Of course they're going say China wants this fighter because if China doesn't buy it, any country that has tensions with China will want the fighter that China "admits" is superior to theirs. Then when the deal never follows through they can claim it's concern over China copying and not worry that they'll be seen as crying wolf. It does two things. Proclaim Chinese fighters are inferior and no one should buy them eliminating Russia's competitor and it's a fighter that countries can depend on to fend off China.

this whole deal reminds me of Future-tellers. They say something will happen, you will see, they can say it for ever and never be "wrong" because future is endless. Once in a million years it can happen and that proves they are right. So of course, people will continue this non-sense.

Saying that doesn't mean I 100% reject the chance of a deal since one can never say never. But the chance is one millionth to me.

See my point? So I usually will just ignore these kind of "news" or should I say "olds"?

Guys, I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on the following.

A number of people are convinced that the Chinese purchase of Su-35s is actually for Pakistan, and because China is the middleman, Russia can avoid being labelled a "backstabber" by India. In all fairness, there was a substantial amount of talk of Pakistan purchasing Su-35s a while back.

If the deal is so corruption and fraud ridden, the Chinese government may never confirm it.

Is it not too early to broach the possibility of corruption? So little is known that the members here could only make educated speculations regarding the configuration and objective of the purchase. The price looks high and some members here took notice, but would the Chinese govt not too? Unless you are privy to some insider information that you can quietly share here. If not, I find your comment off base on the premise that the price is too high.
