You know who has placed blockade, sanctions, fake news, Guantanamo Bay etc on this Cuba island and its people, because it desparately want it to be another state of US, like Hawaii! Just my thoughts.

These ships are too small to be destroyers. The writer thinked they are type 056 corvette, which judging by the size and lack of VLS, should be corvette or patrol boats.

However, they may not be type 056 as the end of the stern of the ship seem to be rounded in curve shape which is different from Type 056, and may not even be PLAN ships.
