Not a military base, but this is going to alarm a lot of people if true

Apparently the Pentagon has rebuffed the allegation:

There are also fishy things going on inside the article itself (apart from WSJ being an absolute ret4rd whenever it comes to China reporting):

In a rare alignment of stance with the Pentagon, Havana too has officially rebuked the allegation.

It is said that the White House also disagreed with the allegation.

Guess who didn't deny the existence of spy base plans in Cuba

It seems like somebody really doesn't want to meet with Blinken next week ;)

lol
and the absolute hypocrisy here
“The United States must respond to China’s ongoing and brazen attacks on our nation’s security. We must be clear that it would be unacceptable for China to establish an intelligence facility within 100 miles of Florida and the United States, in an area also populated with key military installations and extensive maritime traffic,” Sens. Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) they said.

but yes, looks like someone really wants to torpedo the Blinken visit

Sullivan and maybe China working overtime to stop Blinken's upcoming unwelcomed visit. It's also funny seeing lemmings on twitter and reddit parrot the Cuba spy station endlessly without asking the key question of why an old spy station in Cuba is suddenly brought up in the news.

Too early to make conclusion. That photo shows 2 Cambodian navy ships berthed on a normal pier which is not "secretive", and the pier doesn't looked very new.

BTW, RFA.org or Radio Free Asia (RFA) is a United States government-funded anti-communist organization with clear narrative aiming at China, North Korea, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Besides using Mandarin, Burmese, Lao, khemer and Korean, RFA is also broadcasting in Tibetan and Uyghur, clearly trying to stir anti-China sentiment in people who speak these 2 languages.

"“There has been debate inside the [US] government about what exactly China would do with the base and why it would be better than a base in the South China Sea or Hainan Island,” said one former US intelligence official."

One would wonder why the US has a base in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba when a base in Florida would perfectly suffice as well. Especially when the host country does not even want them there.
