I thought the one they displayed in 2022 showed a CF fan?32 Fan blades equipped AEF-1200 high bypass twin-rotor Turbofan just unveiled by AECC ..
AEF-1200 name indicate, this is 12 tons medium High bypass turbofan engine for civilian aircraft and other similar applications.
but number of fan blades is a surprise for me.

Note - this is a completely new Engine. don't confuse with CJ/WS-20 series.
Are we certain this isn't some detuned version of the WS-20? The fan blades seem to use older technology. Kind of like you would see in the Russian PS-90 engine.32 Fan blades equipped AEF-1200 high bypass twin-rotor Turbofan just unveiled by AECC ..

official description of this Engine is AEP-1200. high bypass turbofan engine will power civilian aircraft..Are we certain this isn't some detuned version of the WS-20? The fan blades seem to use older technology. Kind of like you would see in the Russian PS-90 engine.
Those are neither hollow titanium nor composite fan blades.
This might be one of the parallel projects AECC took on to mitigate development risk for the more ambitious projects all the way back in the early 2010s, and now they’re putting it out on display to see if there’s any chance to recuperate the development costs. My guess is maybe they’re hoping for someone to come in and say “we need a cheap mid performance engine for these applications we wouldn’t mind using this one”.official description of this Engine is AEP-1200. high bypass turbofan engine will power civilian aircraft..
rest we don't know anything.
CFM-56B has also 36 blades and thrust ranges 21,000-32,000. but yeah fan blades uses older technology.
i don't know the purpose of this engine.
damn. exactly the same thing my friend told me, he said. this is the early model of high bypass turbofan engine from Shenyang now it comes under AECC. way back from late 2000's decade. This might be one of the parallel projects AECC took on to mitigate development risk for the more ambitious projects all the way back in the early 2010s, and now they’re putting it out on display to see if there’s any chance to recuperate the development costs. I still remember some of the old leaks of the different engine projectsdamn. exactly the same thing my friend told me, he said. this is the early model of high bypass turbofan engine from Shenyang now it comes under AECC. way back from late 2000's decade.
