What engine that flanker is using? RD series? Anyway, all of the AL-Fx series engine AB (on the Chinese flankers and J-10s) I've seen were blue. There may be a very few odd one out that you may be able to find by doing a search I guess and it may not even be of the AL-Fx series. I've seen a picture of a Russian flanker with one engine blue and the other orange, but the rest of the pictures are just blue.

I literally put in a search "Su-27 afterburner"

And all flankers are equipped with Al-31 derived engines, RD 33s are way underpowered. It'll be like putting F414 or EJ200 on an F-15.

I always thought burn color was based on fuel mix.

That should be correct; older biosynthetic fuels and pure biofuels tend to produce a yellowish color. That is most likely due to the purity of the hydrocarbons as well as the sizes, complexity, and volatility of the said hydrocarbons and how fast it combusts.

Okay so I googled it.

here is what I got it seems to be part temperature part oxygen content. More O2 in the exhausts more blue, cooler the gasses the more yellow.
Keep in mind that the afterburner trail is ionized air, so it may not be about flame colour. Then there are other factors like atmospheric conditions.

For example

Wow. This discussion about the colour of an afterburner trail that we dont even see where it is coming only show how hungry people here are for news from china´s engine development.
