That has to be the Kunlun instead. Small engine diameter size, the location and design of the accessories underneath. Its not WP-13B because Kunlun has a black bland near the front where you can see it here. WS-10A is a much larger engine than this.

Now that you have mentioned it, yes, it looks kinda too small to be the WS10

Re: Newest Picture of WS10A

you know, there are existing threads for WS-10 and WZ-10. Use them, if you keep on starting new threads, we are going to have problems.

Gents, there is no need for two ws10a threads.

Threads merged.

If China decide to build its own supersonic bomber would the 2 Was10a sufficient for a mid-sized bomber? Or those engines are strictly for jet fighters?

To achieve decent range and ability of decent supersonic speed dash, all while carrying a decent bomb/missile load, i doubt two ws10a would be enough. Technically speaking, i don't see why the engine couldn't be used on a strike aircraft, but it's just not powerful enough to be used on a larger aircraft, like the bomber you seem to be proposing. I guess one solution would be just to add more engines, 3 might be enough, while 4 would bring the total thrust to the level of tu-22m3, but one must wonder how efficient that'd be. If possible, it would almost certainly be more worthwhile to use a smaller number of more powerful engines.

Then again, one must wonder just how efficient it is investing into a supersonic dash bomber in the first place, when there are other priorities and goals to achieve.

I thought supersonic bomber capable of posing significant danger to surface combat vessels. Now CHina is ocean bound, such weapon might come handy.

Dont see why not in the sence of a midium sized bomber, the one lie Tu22 and Su34, but not enough for those bombers like Tu160, B1b,B2.

well, this I found on the web

China recently made a breakthrough in large aircraft technology by successfully mastering the "test technology for turbo-fan dynamic engine simulator" in China Aerodynamics Research Center. This technology will provide strong support to the country's project of large aircraft.

Related principal of China Aerodynamics Research Center said that this is a key
technology for ground simulation test to tackle before China can develop its own
large aircraft. After mastering this technology, scientists can obtain accurate
knowledge about the influence of working engine on flight characteristics and
driving force.

The success has made China the third country with this technology only next to the United States and the EU.
this is not too surprising since China is supposedly developing a civilian turbofan based on the knowledge they gained from WS-10A.
