Surveillance ship is less flashy than destroyer but no less important .Plan advance on all front not only quantity but also breadth and variant of ship that they launch

Holy moly they are churning these things out as fast as they are warships, guess PLAN is serious about electronic warfare and think it will get them an upper edge.
If the will was there, all,that fancy stuff can be taken out before one realise whats happening. The question would then be who can cope best under those circumstances.
I would like to think its China, but going down that fancy route , its just as exposed as her first world opponents.

It will be good to have one these ship's close to that US AESA radar mounted on a semi submersible oil rig platform that is on the way to the Korean peninsula to monitor the North Korean ballistic missile test.

For example, at the end of 2015, 851 Beijixing stayed for several days near the coast of Tokyo, capital of Japan. And in March 2016, the same ship followed very closely the US Naval Carrier Group USS John C. Stennis who was in the South China Sea. It is also in this area that the Vietnamese have seen the Type 815A patrols several times near their islets, probably to catch the communication signals and their installations.
It can also be noted that the last 5 ships of the Type 815 family were built with a very sustained cadence. Apart from the first Type 815 that was built before 2000 and the 1st Type 815A in 2009, the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard has launched an average of one ship of this class every 9 months since 2014.

This pace of construction has allowed the Chinese Navy to commission three ships of this class by 2015, then another in early January this year. Each of the three Chinese fleets now has two information-collecting buildings, indicating that the Chinese navy is paying particular attention in this area, which is necessary for an increasingly global presence.
