You could either have an economy which focuses on increasingly higher asset prices, so much so that ordinary people become unable to afford housing without a massive amount of debt and a large chunk of your stem workforce decide to become quants and asset managers instead of engineers, or you could have an economy able to design and build 6th generation fighter aircraft, space stations, and massive infrastructure projects. It's difficult to have both.

The US had a real estate meltdown and they COULD channel private savings, so what's your point. Why you gotta lie and exaggerate?

US has had multiple stock meltdowns too.
yes, and the Dodd-Frank Act largely put and end to excessive (residential) real estate speculation through the financial sector

yeah, imagine the country with the largest data center capacity and a ton of capacity coming online, leading the technological frontier on GPUs and LLMs, SpaceX (with by far more space launches than the rest of the world), substantial and well-paid SME employment (as opposed to everyone trying to hide from economic chaos in the public sector or large SOEs) because the financial sector can actually intermediate instead of just giving gigantic C&I loans to favored political cronies.

I was talking about LLMS also numbers=/= capacity since largest data centers in the world are Chinese
