somewhat related to this
this is extremely interesting trend. BYDE + Goertek + Luxshare taking away market share from Foxconn and Pegatron
its JDM partners typically handles the production of low-end smartphones, being responsible for design and component procurement while Samsung provides the brand.
Furthermore, collaborating with JDM partners also enables Samsung to leverage the local manufacturers’ expertise in understanding trends. For instance, with the assistance of JDM partnerships, the Galaxy C55 was optimized locally for the Chinese market.
This is why Chinese OEMs should still maintain presence and pressure in India - the aim should be to bring out inter-province rivalries at the community level.yes india may look like a unified country on the surface, but it is just as fragmented as SEA.
When you think about it, it was never gonna work. Indians don't like working because doing actual work is for low class slaves. Why do they wanna be part of the management class so badly? Because those guys don't do any actual work, just "manage" aka steal all value produced by workers.SE Asia is already lapping in the race.
More lax labor and environmental regulations.
Better geographical situation.
Better geopolitical situation due to being able to get FDI from and export to both East and West.
More internal competition between sovereign states.

Even if the whole operation gets shut down, it is still useful to (a) soak up market share that foreign or local companies would be taking and (b) plant the seed of us vs them in the local communities and local governments vying for jobs, development and foreign cash injections.
Once one operation is forced to wrap up, move onto the next available hotspot.
Beijing announces export control on parts and engines of aerospace equipment and gas turbines. US, Germany, Saudi Arabia are the top importers of “aircraft, spacecraft and parts thereof” from China during the first 4 months of 2024. Taking effect as of July 1, relevant equipment, software and technology will not be allowed to be exported without permission. US, France and Hong Kong the top importers of goods belonging to “turbojets, turbopropellers and other gas turbines, and parts thereof” in same period.
China should avoid falling in the same export control trap than the US. that have killed or diminished US market share to nothing in some industries.Beijing announces export control on parts and engines of aerospace equipment and gas turbines. My only concern about this approach is a stronger singular India will only be more of a pain in the ass to China. Why bother? That is an outdated Anglo mindset, to sow disunion and promote strife in other nations in order to keep them down. China should avoid such petty, short-sighted, and counter-productive behaviors.
Chinese companies should seek out economically profitable opportunities in India while being prudent about risk management and maintaining realistic expectations. China should promote mutually beneficial win-win (with China winning slightly more) trade and investments in India, with an overall strategy towards increasing Indian economic dependence on China while carefully managing China's exposure and risk.
China doesn't need to resort to dirty tactics like the West or India. India funds and trains terrorists to kill Chinese workers in Pakistan whereas China supplies India with affordable, reliable goods. They are not the same. India has been a mess since it was founded in 1947 and it will continue to be a mess as long as the Hindus remain in power. My only concern about this approach is a stronger singular India will only be more of a pain in the ass to China.
You also don't want the type of immigration that the UK, Canada and the US are experiencing.
Splitting india along religious, ethnic and language lines should be the ultimate goal, as a collection of states under normal trade relationships would offer the same market size but at significantly less risk.
