Yes, it takes a while to sort out all of those bank accounts, but couldn't the government at least give an update on the situation to calm the people down? In my opinion, it would have been easy to have an official go out and say that the problem is caused by a scammer backed by corrupted individuals in the local government, and those who have deposits are insured or not affected, while those investors accounts will take time to be sorted out.

Either way, its a good opportunity to see who are the bad apples in the local government, who are the fools or bad actors that jump on bandwagon during and after the matter is resolved, and how foreign forces get involved or try to co-opt to this situation to their benefit. After this incident, there would be more data to formulate strategies to prevent and resolve these incidents in the future, and find who to invite for some "tea".
Because this is a legal issue at heart. Xi has pushed rule of law for this reason, to solve disputes the party doesn't really want to deal with all the time.

It's about what is legally considered a deposit since the legislation from 2020 that extend PBOC deposit insurance to village banks doesn't define what a deposit is. Wealth products are covered by the depository insurance regulations (存款保险条例) but they have to be approved before they can be considered savings deposits. It's a very complicated legal issue and it's very important since it will set a very important precedent for other shaky small banks in China

China’s export growth beat market expectations in June, data released on Wednesday showed, but imports underperformed in the latest sign of a fragile economic recovery.
Exports grew by 17.9 per cent last month from a year earlier to US$331.3 billion, compared with 16.9 per cent growth in May, according to data released by China Customs.
Imports, meanwhile, grew by 1 per cent in June from a year earlier to US$233.3 billion, down from 4.1 per cent growth in May, and below the expectation of a 3 per cent rise predicted by Wind.

The printing press may result in in dollar losing value in the future, but it hasn't for now. People all over the world still love dollars even though they print like hell, I don't understand it, but that's how it is.

Yuan weakened from 6.3 at the beginning of the year to 6.73 now. Euro also prints and its now with parity because of zombie economy, another example is Polish funny token złoty which weakened from around 4.2 for 1 USD to 4.8, stagflation ahead of Poland.
