I kid you not that Christians tell everyone they're feeding China in charity to this day and without them the Chinese would starve and then they tell their followers China is not showing one bit of appreciation. That's how they paint the Chinese as ungrateful getting Christians angry and want to act against China so that Christians can take over China.

Well if you mean Christian fundamentalist from the bible belt. But not to the more intellectual and more reformist Catholic though. Specially this new pope He come from South America and He know first hand poverty and social injustice. Anyway Catholic Church do support social justice in south America and elsewhere They themselves undergone reformation in the 60's
The one that is active in proselytizing China in 30's are this firebrand Protestantism and not Catholic. Catholic way is persuasion Thru opening good school because they know Chinese value education and thru this kids they persuade Chinese to embrace Catholicism.

By the logic of Americans in their answer when civilians get killed in their invasions of other countries... If they didn't want it to happen they should've revolted against their government so it's their fault. There's anti-China sentiment in Latin America. China didn't invade or occupy them so why the hate? Because Catholicism taught them to hate China. I don't see the "good" Christians stopping the bad ones. So by their own logic, they don't do anything because they're for it.

Wow that is an excellent article the author doesn't hold any punches He said it straight I like this passage

What Poverty Alleviation Says about China Today

Most religions, especially Abrahamic ones, put a very strong emphasis on helping the poor in their social doctrines. It would be highly disingenuous for the West to suggest that, because it is the Chinese who did it, somehow it isn’t commendable. Achieving zero extreme poverty in China, the most populated country in the world, which just forty years ago was as poor as the poorest countries in Africa, is an achievement on a scale the world has rarely, if ever, seen.

This transformation has even led some high-ranking Catholic figures such as Bishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo, the current chancellor of the Holy See’s Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, to declare that China is “the best implementer of the social doctrine of the Church” and to describe the country as “hold[ing] the common good above all else.”

Sánchez Sorondo immediately faced a barrage of criticism for this remark. First Things ran an article arguing that we shouldn’t let “defenses of the ‘common good’ . . . slip into apologias for authoritarianism.” The article added that “rejecting liberalism in the name of the common good . . . mean embracing tyranny” and “totalitarian regimes.”

Just like that, we were back to our familiar individual freedom versus collectivism debate.

Many people today go even further, claiming it is our duty to impose change on the Chinese so they conform to liberal values and principles. Even if the Chinese government was demonstrably the best at looking out for the interests of the Chinese as a collective, their doing so in an illiberal fashion means we see it as our duty to change their system, even if it means ending up with a government under which the Chinese are worse off. In such moments, it seems that we are the ones ready to compromise morality and reason for the sake of ideology.
Welcome back.

I have to agreed with AssassinsMace here Hendrick. Trust me I grew up Catholic and know how they think. The Asian hardcore Catholics would try anything to be "Christian and white" by appeasing to their former colonial masters by adopting to their values. The Catholic church does NOT teach anything good or positive about Communist China. They only preach about the "evils of communism" in Sunday school and sometimes during sermon as well. There might be some few Catholics that are exception to the rules, but they're usually the college university professor types that don't follow the religion. Again like I said before, the Western Christians can NOT live peacefully or willing to accept that another culture that's older and far ahead of them in civilization because that means the end of the Christian empire and that their "lord and savior Jesus Christ" doesn't exist.
