It was built in 1999. Why now?
If its resonance then thats how it works. It is a specific frequency value (or small range) which every building has. If the frequency is synchronised with the environment then the building starts shifting back and forth and will eventually collapse

Take note that the frequency can be synchronised without any visible environmental change. One day the building is ok, and the next day, with a sunny weather, no earthquakes, no wind, the building can suddenly start resonating and it can collapse due to the synchronized frequency with the environment.

Normally resonance studies are done on these kinds of projects and they set it at a such a value that it is unlikely that the environmental frequency hits it

It seems to me that the engineering dept messed up. I dont know if they can externally add some structures to change the frequency of the building. If it cant be fixed then the whole building must come down..

The same with the that Fu Mun bridge which was built in 1997 started to sway in may 2020, and now this building which was built in 1999, again started to sway in May. Something is very fishy here. Maybe the same mistake was made 20 yrs ago by the same group, such that some these structures would sway in May.

Pardon me for being noob on Bond Trading. Why it is good to have low yield for bond?
Also what will be the effect to Chinese economy in general based on this development?

The Humen bridge had excessive vibration not too long ago and the bridge was closed for a while pending investigation. The panel of experts found that the temporary road barriers laid on the bridges were the culprit that caused resonance problem. Problem seems to be resolved with removal of those temporary structures.

It could be that certain alterations were made in that building that could have changed its vibration characteristics . Maybe it is due to the two large mast on top of the building.

Its good for the country because it means that there is high demand for its Bonds, which shows that investors trust that the Chinese economy will continue to grow and it wont face too many issues down the road

Low Yields means that it is cheaper to get loans for Chinese gov entities and that the interest they have to pay is lower

Keep in mind though that AFAIK this is for gov bonds. Corps bonds are rising because it seems that the Chinese Gov will stop guaranteeing every SOE's bonds, so the yields have to rise.

Couple that with rising defaults of Chinese companies and the fear of default of Huarong then yields will remain high and climb even further

China has used its adversaries' tools and managed a balance between overreliance/overexposure and failure to capitalize on opportunities, to develop its own technology/economy and achieve its own objectives for decades now. As long as the dollar continues to serve China's economic development, China will manage its usage rather than reflexively ditch it out of spite. China needs no economic advice from someone further lowers his already lacking writing abilities as a failed parody to compensate for his inability to credibly present his own panic and overreaction to the audience.
Ouch!! I think you're a bit harsh with your comment against @voyager1. I understand that some of us here are not out to gain or win some friends but to simply learn/exchange ideas anything and everything that's related to China. I am assuming that people here are coming from individuals with different educational backgrounds and life experiences. It's therefore inevitable that most of us will have difference of opinions on a lot of topics and there will be some issues that's going to become a little contentious which is normal as well as to be expected when it comes to this sort of setting. But I hope in disagreeing with others we don't have to respond in a manner that's going to invite personal animosity especially if the comments made are expressed in a non-trollish manner.

Each of us here bring our own varying degrees of biases our own interpretation to events, news, and definitely opinions on wide range of issues pertinent to the country we care for with a passion. But we have to disagree with restraint and a little respect for other individuals opinion, at least in my book, and I don't think that's a little too much to ask.
