Good thing they are reporting and monitoring the situation though. The only silver lining of this whole fiasco. There has to be some sort of problems with the foundation.

People were screaming down the street like they were in a disaster movie...
Is there any way of resolving the situation by just modifying the foundation?

My 1 minute guess is that this might have something to do with resonance.. The architect/civil engineering team might have messed up their resonance studies and this happened.

I dont know if you are aware of the concept but it is a fascinating physics phenomenon.

See an example of this phenomenon "randomly" happening to this bridge

I’ll be very surprised if they’re still purchasing treasury now though; the fed has had to hike interest rates and noone’s buying us debt
They won't. There's no inflation. April 2019 - April 2021 CPI was 2.4% annualized. Money is free. *Yawn*

For this bridge, they claimed that it was because of temporary barriers that were put on one side of the bridge during some type of maintenance. Have they resolved the bridge situation already?

Dunno I was just searching quickly for a video in Youtube so I could show an example lol

However I remember that in the past I had seen a video (or from textbooks?) where a soldier unit were all hitting their boots in the ground in a synchronised way while marching on the bridge. Guess what, they hit the resonance frequency of the bridge, and the bridge collapsed immediately...

This happened last year. Since the bridge didn’t collapse I assume the problem fixed itself.
