"Listing venue doesn't really matter. For the sake of prudence, we just buy the same companies in the Hong Kong market. The shift is quite easy."

Fund managers say U.S. and Hong Kong-listed shares are completely fungible, with little price difference or cost.

Still, in a worst-case scenario, a large exodus of Chinese companies would affect investors and reduce competitiveness of the U.S. capital markets, a lawyer who works with an ADR depositary said on condition of anonymity.

"If you take away prominent successful companies from U.S. exchanges, it will make London or Hong Kong or both stronger and will create a perception that now there are possibly better choices than U.S. exchanges."
They can still put Chinese companies on a list, so that US investors are not allowed to invest in, regardless of where these Chinese companies are listed.

CCP might be abandoning loans to junk rating countries

There might be new approach to the belt n road, but I don't think China is quitting the idea.
It's a recalibration towards more targeted, strategic investment rather than blindly investing in everything. A lot of that RMB could be used to bolster domestic competitiveness as well.

As soon as I read this... it reminded me of the Putin laugh a few years ago...

Putin was totally wrong, pig industry is very big in Indonesia. And in Indonesia, especially in big cities, pork is everywhere and very very easy to get even in traditional/wet market

Remember so many Chinese Indonesian in Indonesia (~5-10%) and they control over 70% the economy. Also so many Hindus and Christians there. Hindu in Indonesia which mainly in Bali do eat beef and of course pork is very popular there

Incidentally, I discover this gem today.

It raised a number of debates.

I don't get what she's objecting to. If someone can't even speak Chinese, how can they be qualified to comment on Chinese culture? All they would be doing is regurgitating someone else's interpretation.

In fact, I would qualify that on an academic level, you need to be able to read Chinese so that you can get your information from first hand sources.
