Really interesting update.

ARJ-21 will open international flights soon.

Starting from July 24th, Indonesian TransNusa Airlines (TransNusa) will use ARJ21 aircraft to increase the route between Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia..

A small step but really significant for COMAC to understand overseas operation. COMAC is targeting south east Asia market to promote ARJ-21 aircrafts.

as per the source, they are planning to sale 60 ARJ-21 in this region. lets see

Since ARJ-21 is able to fly into Malaysia air space, this means Malaysia recognised the air worthiness certificate of China. This also means Air Asia would be a potential customer of C919 in future, Air Asia has 333 flights per week between Malaysia and China according to Bing AI chatbot..

I don't think that is true. As long as indonesia certified it, Indonesia carrier can fly to other countries from Indonesia

Yes you can fly over air space of another country if your aircraft does not have recognised air worthiness certificate provided permission has been granted. You can transit the air space but you cannot land.

In TransNusa's case, they are flying regular scheduled commercial flights with ARJ-21 which has no FAA certification, between Jarkata and Kuala Lumpur.

By your arguement, if China certified C919, then they can fly commercial flights to USA.
