Is PLA getting a cleaner burning case & propellant? the cartridge case resembles the fully combustible modular NATO artillery charge.A rare image. 125mm practice rounds for Type 96.
A couple of years ago, someone in this forum mentioned something that sounds like a kind of IM ( insensitive munition ) for the newest 99A tank rounds. Although no one can confirm this, it is likely that the PLA already have these in their possession. That will greatly enhance the survivability of the crew. By an impact, the ammunition will burn instead of explode because the propellant is stable.
Why is there a trail of fire behind the sabot? Could the new sabot be DU instead of tungsten? I am asking because DU is more like to be set on fire by frictions than tungsten rounds.A rare image. 125mm practice rounds for Type 96.

125mm two piece ammo has always used combustible cartridges, though. Or I'm not understanding the question?
