Twitter is fine but minor nitpick that maybe post this in the export vehicle thread instead? Technically the 85-II M is the father of the Type 96 and not the export version of the Type 96.

Newer welded turret with different composite inserts, new transmission, added thermal imaging(this was an option for the 85-IIM but I think most buyers didn't opt for it. I don't know if the Sudanese models had them) and some sources also mention a newer gun compared to the original Type 85-IIM which uses a gun more closer to the original 2A46 while the Type 96 used one incorporating tech from the Rheinmetall 120mm guns.
