China's transport, tanker & heavy lift aircraft

Looks like An-70 not cool

Well, Antonov did provide a lot of consultation help (whether that included actually designing parts of the Y-20 or just proofchecking the blueprints remains to be seen).

Though the nose seems a lot stubbier, there's a T tail, shorter fuselage section before the wings, and apparently much taller (thus presumable wider?).

Still will wait for an actual photo.

Looks nothing like An-70... More like a fusion of c-17, a400m, and il-76. The nose seems quite sharp for a transporter too (actually the nose from the drawings look similar to KC-390)

I wouldn't be surprised if technical cooperation with companies like Embraer for example helped speed things up even faster than originally estimated.

I wasn't insinuating the sharp nose necessarily had anything to do with cooperation with embraer, anymore than anything else which superficially looks like any other plane has to do with antonov, ilyushin or hell, boeing or airbus military for that matter.

All these military transporters from Il-76 to C-17, A400M, Y-20, the smaller up and coming twin jet airlifters like XC-2, KC-390, Il-214... they all look like one another.

That's true, all I was saying was that it wouldn't necessarily hurt to have cooperation with others although AVIC doing everything itself would also be an excellent statement of engineering robustness.

To close out 2012, we have Y-20!

Merry christmas, and a happy new year lol.

Via GT. And like hmmvw said over on CDF, the lack of winglets is strange.

Now I'm even more skeptical about the Jh-7B. Hopefully there will soon be photos of it as well.
