are those photos you posted all for recent times? If they are, then my question is why would they re-number 2084x to 2054x and then add 2084x again?

The demand in China for Y-20 series is probably 300-400 over the life time. Why would 50 tankers be too many? I would think they need 150 tankers at least. Maybe 200.

Deino isn't suggesting that 50 tankers is too many throughout the production of its lifetime, rather than 50 tankers now, so soon, is somewhat surprising.


Are you sure this isn't PSed?

It looks about normal to me (apart from the obvious artefacting due to low resolution being upscaled).
There's nothing in that particular image which shows anything which we haven't seen before from that angle.

why? It looks very much like one of the earlier prototypes

The shape of the port side outer nacelle is very strange, and my hunch is that it's not due to the poor image quality. Also, that Weibo user is the only one of my usual sources that shared the image, while others shied away, which is not a good sign.
