China's transport, tanker & heavy lift aircraft

They had a deal with Ukraine to build the An-225 in China at one point.
It never went anywhere that I know of.
As with any such program the question is: where are the engines?
Once the CR929 engines become available then such large transport aircraft will become viable. Perhaps in 2028.

As for this turboprop. I think once the new engines for the MA700 become available then it will make sense to make a new turboprop aircraft. But I doubt it will be much larger than the Y-8.

Antonov is dead that An-225 would be never reborn again.

So, some thoughts: Based on open-source info, there are 34 known PLAAF Y-20As (including at least 1 Y-20U tanker). This constitutes about 15% of their Y-20 active fleet. As you might have heard, China is going through COVID lockdowns again. Possibly related.
Wait what?

If 34 Y-20s constituted just 15% of the total Y-20s in PLAAF service, does that means that China has more than 230 Y-30s in total?

Where did she get that 230+ Y-20s claim from? As far as I know, China currently has around 40-50 Y-20s in service.

(I mean, I would be very delighted if China can put 230+ Y-20s into service by now, since the PLAAF is severely lacking behind her USAF peers in numbers (in terms of cargo transport, AWACS and refueling))

I think she was saying 6 is about 15% of 34 (I agree it's not a good math, should be something between 17%~18%...)

Yes, it should be 17-18% of the total 34 Y-20s known to be in service in the PLAAF.

Thank guys, for the correction! @symplectic and @para80
