It's rumoured that China is currently developing a four-engine turboprop military transport plane called Y-30, of which its size and payload is somewhere in the middle between the C-130J Super Herules and A-400M Atlas. Seems like this plane design is from AVIC.

Any news and updates on the Y-30 project?

Besides, I have also found a news article (dated 2016) which claimed that China is also developing large transport planes that are similar in size and capacity to C-5 Galaxy and An-125 Ruslan, which is aptly named Y-40/50. The claim even went further for a "600 ton" supersized transport plane (i.e. basically An-225 Mriya's range).

They had a deal with Ukraine to build the An-225 in China at one point.
It never went anywhere that I know of.
As with any such program the question is: where are the engines?
Once the CR929 engines become available then such large transport aircraft will become viable. Perhaps in 2028.

As for this turboprop. I think once the new engines for the MA700 become available then it will make sense to make a new turboprop aircraft. But I doubt it will be much larger than the Y-8.

Y-30 if I remember correctly is supposed to be A400M sized, so quite a bit bigger than C-130

The An-225 deal was supposedly part of the Motor Sich deal, so obviously dead. It was a private company which is being liquidated in Chinese court now. So it wasn't a state supported thing.

I think the issue with Y-30 at the moment is the lack of immediate need. Since all the variants of Y-8/9 are needed for the special mission aircraft, and Y-20 is ready and going full speed, how would Y-30 get produced?

In fact the Y-30's status is currently not known, I would even guess it is dead or at least shelved, the An-225 was never a PLA project and this Y-40/50 is at best a fan-boy's wet-dream.
