It goes hat-in-hand in Asia filled with petty nationalism and envy and jealousy of the other. Being hated in Asia is the flavor of the month of anyone who is seen as having it better than them at the moment. Like it didn't happen to the Japanese back in the 70s and 80s where other Asians were jumping on to the hate pile on Japan? Being liked is overrated since China is second in the world and the US, number one, always complains about how the world disrespects them after all they've done. Valuing being liked just shows the desperation of those that have nothing else to brag about. You're liked because you're not a threat to their status... period! That's what it means to be liked.
If North Korea hated Chinese so much, why haven't they nuked China? The West thinks North Koreans are crazy enough to nuke the US when they have the chance yet somehow after all these people in the world who hate China more, North Koreans wouldn't find it easier and more accepting by the world to win favor by just nuking China instead? North Koreans have survival and preservation instincts as well and it doesn't matter if they're in contention with the US or China, they want to live which they won't be if they start lobbing nukes without a thought. It's the US side that always uses the enemy is so crazy they're an imminent threat just to scare people into action. And that's why China does nothing the US wants because North Korean anger is all aimed at the US side not China. Only followers who value being liked think China values being liked even more than they do. If that were the case China would be a follower just like they are and not one of the top countries in the world. It's not a coincidence that most of the countries that hate China are no where.
