The 6th Academy of CASC has successfully completed the first full-system hot test run of its YF-90 220-ton LOX/LH2 engine, which will power the 2nd stage of Long March 9.

I wonder if this test rig is the one that we talked about not long ago (like half year) when it was first used to do some test. At that time there was suggestion that that early test was of YF-209 the methane engine.

What I am interested are: 1. was the previous report about same test site, and 2. was the prvious test "half system test". The following report says that this test is in Laiyuan Hebei.

Meanwhile US is working hard to get RS-25E done because apparently everyone who worked on RS-25D back in the 80s are retired or dead now.

A group photo after the successful full-system test of YF-90. Not sure why they see the need to censor the engine model number. YF-90 has a specific impulse of 453 seconds, a thrust adjustment range of 60 to 100%, and is capable of multiple restarts and advanced self-diagnostics.

OrienSpace has unveiled a new engine at Zhuhai Airshow: Force-110 (原力-110) LOX/Kerosene engine. Specs are as follow:

Thrust (sea-level): 110 tons
Specific impulse (sea-level): 285s
Thrust (vacuum): 122 tons
Specific impulse (vacuum): 313s
Thrust adjustment range: 40 to 110%
Thrust-to-weight ratio of 170
