On December 6, 2023, Director Zhang Kejian and Director of the Egyptian Space Administration signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Egyptian Arab Republic on Space Cooperation and the Peaceful Use of Outer Space in Beijing and the China National Space Administration and Egyptian Space Cooperation Agreement of the Bureau on International Lunar Research Station.
According to the cooperation document, the two sides encourage joint research and development cooperation in the fields of lunar and deep space exploration, spacecraft development and launch, space infrastructure construction, satellite data reception and application, BRICS remote sensing satellite constellation, space science and astronomical observation, and will conduct joint demonstration and research in the international lunar scientific research station. Cooperation in space missions, space systems and subsystems, space equipment, ground sections and applications, education and training, and capacity-building.
China and Egypt have made fruitful cooperation in the field of space. The Egyptian satellite assembly integration test center completed the acceptance in June, and the Egyptian satellite II satellite completed the assembly and test at the center and was successfully launched on December 4. The signing of the cooperation document in the field of space will indicate the direction for future space cooperation between China and Egypt, which is of great significance for promoting the progress of space science and technology and development of comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Egypt.
