I am not sure Macros boarded the anti-China train because of all the promises. He has a bunch of legal troubles from his father's legacy. It is not a stretch to think they have much more dirt on him/his family and he may be making some decisions for his personal gain/protection rather than for the good of his country.

That's the reason for running and winning the Presidency, to have a legal protection. His reasoning is very simple, he won a landslide victory , surely the electorate know their family history and his winning is a sign of their rehabilitation. IF he followed his predecessor policy, he maybe forgiven BUT his character is weak, being born with a silver spoon, he never face real adversity in his life. That's his weakness.

The notice is from Southern Theater Command this time
056A can handle the Philippine newest Frigate build by SK, it had NO MISSILE either SAM nor SSM even A squad of Type 022 can sink it. This show of bravado is for domestic consumption, having poke the panda and the eagle hadn't appear, Marcos need to show something for his incompetence.

They have, major railway project had been abandon, these critical infrastructure is vital to revitalized our countryside.

Among those project cancels are

1) Mindanao railway project

2) Subic to Clark railway project

3) Southern Luzon Railway project.

4) North Luzon Railway project.

Most Filipino political elite shrug off the cancellation thinking that the Japanese will come and build it for them BUT the Japanese will not undertake such risky investment with limited return, they're in for profit and want their commercial investment paid by the state.

The Jakarta Bandung HSR is being ignored here by our local media, you can sense the frustration and Jealousy, the First HSR in ASEAN build in 6 years while the Japanese funded Manila -Clark railway project with the same distance will be partially open in 2024 with full operation expected in 2026.

2 days ago — Malacañang has ordered the abolition of the North Luzon Railways Corp., the state-run firm mandated to operate and manage a railway project ...
Were they cancelled by the Chinese side or Filipino side?
From the interview of Philippine ambassador to China, it seemed like Filipino government doesn't seem very interested in some of the BRI projects.
Bro better late than never, from an oligarch MSM, see this senator put a brave face BUT he know we're screwed, only the Chinese had the money, capacity and capability to build those project on time and on budget. The Japanese will not invest on such risky project unless the Philippine gov't will guarantee those loans (onerous, since there is NO COMPETITION) and loses that may occur.

So the Philippines is like the only country that has higher interest rate, costs and delays when dealing with China?
If so you did something very very wrong as a nation..

There comes a time when the people look back and think did our leaders/elites scammed us and sold us out to the US and Japan and we get nothing in return.. I think that time will come somewhere in the early 2030s.
When other SEA nation have infrastructure and the Philippines is still waiting for the US and Japan to start a project.

I think it will get even worse than that. By the time all is said and done with, Marcos' tenure will have resulted in the Philippines falling economically 2 decades behind Vietnam and Thailand, as well as moving ten steps backwards to becoming a colonial property again (in all but name).

Japan until recently had negative interest rates. So they are able to offer lower interest rate loans than China for projects. The problem is they seldom finance anything, and even when they do, the project will cost 2x or 3x what China would charge. The interest rate difference doesn't even marginally cover the project cost difference.

We were expecting a huge wave of Chinese investment after Marcos won the election, then he flip flop on his predecessor policy. Now we had to wait until 2028 after his presidency whether the Chinese will look on us favorably. Those wasted 5 years will see our country regressed among the ASEAN, Technically Vietnam had overtook us in 2020, Parity with Cambodia by 2035 and by 2040 with Myanmar.

What caused Marcos "Corrupt" Jr. to abruptly changed his tune though?
