China's SCS Strategy Thread

When did China "lie" per your accusations on your post? You're postings are becoming a little too jingoistic and short on actual substance to be blunt with you. Actions of no return are of grave consequences that can never be dialed back like a switch. I don't know why you're so fixated on this particular issue that you desperately want China to punish the Philippines.

Don't you live in the Philippines and ergo your family businesses as well as your loved ones live there? How's the escalation of violence going to help the Chinese community in the Philippines if any members of the Philippine Navy gets hurt? Then it'll definitely stoke up the emotional nationalistic fervor of the Filipinos that will make it impossible for the current PRO-AMERICA government not to intercede and make a hay in the international media, with the help and guiding hand of the collective west.
I have absolutely no relations to the Philippines, you're thinking of someone else.

I'm posting cause China is just releasing tough words as usual and doing absolutely nothing of substance. What good is posing with 7 large coast guard/fishing vessel if the Philippines are still going to resupply their boat with food and most likely construction material. From this incident, more countries might learn the wrong lessons and think China is a paper tiger.

On Sep. 8th, China and the Philippines respectively issued statements on the latest "resupply" incident at Second Thomas Shoal that day.
From the Chinese statements, one would be inclined to think the Chinese coast guard were successful or something, which objectively speaking isn't true, unless China's objective is to look tough for photo-ops.

You think China's "propaganda" can beat CIA's decades of cultivation in the Philippines?
Phillipines tend towards populist governments, therefore the foreign policy of the government can change on a dime, as seen recently with Durtete with his relatively warm relationship with China.

However you're right, the propaganda arm of the Chinese is woefully inadequate when compared against the US or even Russia, since the messaging is usually aimed at overseas Chinese and appeals poorly to locals. When you compare how much good the Chinese state is doing for global south the goodwill return (from the public) is woeful to say the least.

That being said a tree starts from a seeding, if you never start and just complain about how unfair it is things will never change. Especially since China easily have the capital now to compete.

Paper tiger? Who the bleeping cares what social media mandrakes think of China. I am more than willing to bet that countries in ASEAN with the exception of the Philippines.

China waged wars when it's only absolutely necessary for its strategic survival (Korean War, Vietnam War).

If you were another SCS country with unresolved maritime border with China, what is your take away from the Sept 8th incident?
For your own good, it's time to sit down and stay off Chinese social media for a while, because all it seems to do is get you worked up. Frankly, you insistence on believing that China will drag that ship away and code of conduct really hasn't been that helpful for anyone on this forum.

I would strongly advise you to think if getting this worked up on this topic is worth it, because this thread is going downhill really fast.

that if you already control an island, you can keep controlling it.

There will be an announcement of an important statement between Vietnam and US today. What could this be ?

He is indeed no naval architect. The “antennas” are lamps used to attract squid and cuttlefish to the fishing boat.

Which puts the credibility of his "PLAN 052D hAs nO dAmAgE cOnTrOl" claim into even greater scrutiny.

He couldn't even bother to ask someone more informed with the fishery industry first before posting nonesense? I call that BS. Or that he is actually smearing China with intent.

First Sutton, now this guy. Looks like people with credible and objective views on the PLAN (and PLA development in-general) is critically dwindling as time goes by...

Probably an upgrade of ties to comprehensive strategic partnership. Important to note that Vietnam already has CSP with China&Russia so U.S. is actually playing catch up.

Apparently there will be an agreement on rare earths as well.
