I really hope that relations between the two countries progress to higher levels of cooperation asap before the Unazi Snakes intervene in the elections next month to install a hybrid version of Tsai Ing Zelensky
@PhSt Bro don't worry China is our neighbor and we learned a hard lesson regarding McCarthyism during the 50's and 60's. Since most of the populace here in the MM had Chinese blood in them as Imperial Manila shape our foreign policy. And of course we can't discount the sorrow tale of our OFW as they experience hardship, discrimination and abuses abroad, with every OFW suffering you can count on his/her family, relatives and friends sharing the same, thus they can empathized with us Hua Qiao since China doesn't allow private labor agency to operate unlike those of HKG and Singapore. Without this baggage the Chinese can learn and can able to create an ideal situation for both, from my contacts of friends and former co worker working in China, they're happy working there as they were given the respect and dignity due to them, this kind of interaction will shape our future relationship for the better.

An Addendum : Foreign scrutiny of everything Chinese is good for China, aside from the patriotism it created , it also meant that the Chinese will be more cautious and respectful in dealing with others. Non intervention is sounding more attractive now as the US abuses its power, thanks to that it gave the Chinese a positive vibe and contradict the US propaganda....lol

I keep myself informed on developments there, thx for ur concern! But the countryside beyond those cities has many things to be improved; does PRC have a highway system like Germany & USA? How well is she connected with her SE Asian neighbors besides Laos, much less their coastal ports? How long does it take to get from Kunming to Rangoon by land?
Have you been living under a rock?

20 years, and you talk, with such confidence. Wow.

Oh, I see, your sense of time is adjusted to how things go in the West. hahaha, that's just funny. Let me ask you, did Chengdu even have one mile of urban rail transit 20 years ago? You think what you're seeing 20 years ago is even a remotely adequate representation of what it is today?

Are you kidding me? Do you even know how big Chengdu's metro system is today?

Online info. isn't always up to date. I want u to answer my rhetorical questions.
You are a f..ng hoot Man.

He's been living under anti-China delusions that he's impression of China has been stuck circa 2002 -- he's supposed last "visit" to China.

Imagine a country of China having the largest high speed rail network in the world and yet not having a fully developed high way according to this arrogant western friend of ours. The man is simply inventing his own reality.

You can tell when a person is a western prick because they always want to insist that they know Chinese history better than the Chinese who not only studied Chinese history but is intimately more familiar with it than some random western know-it-all who are absolutely clueless as heck when it comes to anything substantive about China. Check his condescending arrogant ass in the way he phrases his questions and idiotic statements as if his the final authority on China.

Check your privileges western dude @Tsavo Lion . You ain't the Sheriff of Asia, let alone China. Stop making shit up and if you want to know certain things you're not sure about, ask nicely, don't demand like Chinese people here are your slave or something. You are no better than anyone of us and we are certainly no better than you. You may have been accustomed to be ordering folks around in Malaysia (that's where you're supposed to be at) or anywhere in ASEAN countries due to the people's warm hearted and friendly nature. But that doesn't mean you're special because you ain't regardless of what your mommy and daddy told you.

Any arbitration service charges legal fees- if China decided to use it, she would have to pay them as well.
Even if Chinese fished in the area for centuries, so did the locals who formed their own states there, even before the Ming Dynasty. The Japanese also fished around the Kurils, Sakhalin & Kamchatka, but they lost that privilege as a result of WWII. The Basque fishermen from Spain/France & Pomor fishermen from N. Russia had their fishing grounds off Canada & Svalbard respectively- do Spain/France & RF have any rights to claim all those waters &/ islands?

Please prove what you said " United Nations arbitration " ?
Please upload the copy of the " United Nations Arbitration " you said
If it is true then a lot of copy will be available on the internet.
Don't prove it with " what I hear from BBC "
In SDF you must learn to write what is a fact, if not you will be called a troll

Also @Tsavo Lion here is our old pal from Top Gear Britain doing a show about dun dun dun...China's massive network of highways that dwarfs that of Britain, and most of the European countries. Watch and learn.

China's play in ASEAN countries have to be about being the economic powerhouse, technology provider, military provider of the region. With China becoming ever richer and more technologically advanced, it can help its Asian brothers to move up the value chain in economic ladder. With ever growing population, there is no reason for these countries to keep moving along in the low end of global industries.

China can not only trade with them but also empower them to move them up in the value chain. I have already discussed the importance of China supplying ASEAN countries with advanced military hardware in the coming years. Now, they are making big steps to help these countries to grow.

Like recently, BYD is building a factory in Thailand for EVs for right hand driving markets and exporting from there. This kind of moves not only helps local economy but also advertise China's growing technology prowess. It's a great thing when other countries see China and see an advanced economy rather than manufacturer of cheap goods.

These should all be friendly countries with China as long as China can deliver on improving the lives of people in these countries.

@tphuang Sir here in the Philippines , American product is less visible except for Cars and Smartphone and both products are expensive. Even the Japanese and Koreans brand are being price in premium. In the Car segment the cheapest Japanese and Koreans Car accessories are spartan, while the Chinese car design had that European feel, comfort drive and premium interior. An example Geely Coolray Sport is price at $21,600 while its Japanese counterpart Toyota RAV 4 is price at $40,000, almost double the price. The gadget and accessories spec the Chinese outdone the Japanese by a huge margin with their cars equipped with all digital dashboard, sun roof and 360 camera as standard, while you have to pay extra when buying a Japanese car. It's a rip off and we the consumer don't believed that Japanese and Korean Quality demand a premium price. I'm a big fan so are my friends , Driving one make you feel like a Bachelor while driving my Toyota Prado and Fortuner make me look like a Family Driver :(

I think in order to promote its own product, China should try to work with ASEAN countries like Philippines to build a local network of EV charging stations that conform to the Chinese standard. Once you get charging stations out there, it will be very easy to sell all the low to high end EVs they have. If you think about it, Toyota is paying BYD money to mass produce sub $30k BEVs for them so they can put the Toyota label on there

. At this pace, Chinese automakers are going to put the Japanese and Koreans out of business. Cars are very important to people. If you can help build local industries and sell good cars to people, this is a form of soft power. Phones, computers and apps.

This is not 2005 anymore. China has a lot of great things that it can share with its neighbors and help its Asian brothers grow. Industrially, it can help share its clean tech advantage, it's bio tech successes, its AI progress.
