Since the US is doubling down on deploying medium-range offensive missile systems in the Philippines, perhaps it is time for China to return the favor and explore the possibility of deploying similar systems in Cuba.

Maybe but also just solve it by aiming enough napalm at Manila and making it clear we will make it resemble Tokyo in 1945 if they as much as slightly make a funny move.

It's more humiliating for them to have missiles but being permanently cucked out of using them due to overwhelming fear than for them to have nothing at all.

The lack of imagination these days.. Think bigger. Just send them 10k of shahed-type of drones. With a generously high cost of $2k each that's a total of only $20 million, China could hold the entire eastern side of US hostage to its whims and provoke the US to spend a few tens of billions to fortify CONUS

China literally has dozens of pain points that it could pressure the US if it really wished to do so. It's just not worth it atm

"China has conducted a series of operations around Huangyan Dao in the South China Sea after aircraft and vessels belonging to the U.S. and the Philippines intruded into the waters, airspace, and surrounding areas of the island in recent days."

From this video it seems like Pinoys have been flying over Huangyan Dao for over a month disregarding China's warnings. Pinoys shows no signs of calming things down with China in the SCS.
Maybe they have many domestic political issues?

Xi was the first to reject. After that, they're all just following him cus they don't wanna look like a loser who picks up his trash. I bet if Xi accepted, they'd all go too cus they don't wanna be left out.
Bongbong wasn't even invited.

“As a matter of policy, no head of state is invited. Only ambassadors based in Washington are invited,” Romualdez explained, confirming his own attendance. He clarified that US protocol dictates that no heads of state are invited to an inauguration ceremony.
Last month, however, CNN reported that Trump had extended personal invitations to a select group of world leaders, including some with whom the United States has had strained relations in recent years.
Chinese President Xi Jinping was one of the most high-profile recipients of an invitation, an unusual gesture considering the ongoing tension between the US and China on various geopolitical issues, including trade, security, and the status of Taiwan.

At least some Pinoys know their place.
