CCG closely monitors, drives away Philippine aircraft illegally entering China’s airspace over Huangyan Dao: spokesperson
On Thursday, a Philippine C-208 aircraft illegally entered China’s airspace over Huangyan Dao without permission from the Chinese government. The China Coast Guard (CCG) closely monitored the situation and issued a warning, driving away the aircraft in accordance with the law, CCG spokesperson Liu Dejun said in a statement on Friday.

Huangyan Dao is an inherent part of China’s territory, and the Philippine actions seriously violate China’s sovereignty, posing a significant risk of maritime and air accidents. We warn the Philippine side to immediately cease its provocative infringement, said Liu.
The CCG will continue to strengthen its law enforcement efforts in China’s jurisdictional waters to resolutely safeguard the country’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, said Liu.

Pinoys forgot about the lost thumb, they need another reminder again.

From US media RFA:

"China began on Wednesday military drills in an area overlapping with Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone, or EEZ, in the South China Sea, the Sanya Maritime Safety Administration said in a navigation warning.

The “training exercise” is being conducted daily until Dec. 21 in waters southwest of China’s Hainan island, with a portion lying inside Vietnam’s EEZ where it has jurisdiction over resources in the waters and on the seabed.[...]

Vietnamese South China Sea watcher Duan Dang told Radio Free Asia that China’s second aircraft carrier – the Shandong – was spotted approaching the exercise area on Dec. 17.[...]"

Their liberals can thank the USA for normalizing military activities in foreign EEZs.

The Philippine military says it plans to acquire the US Typhon missile system to protect the country’s maritime interests

I assume they'd also acquire substantial BMD capability to defend them, either that or they must know something about mobility and concealment upgrades planned for Typhon that we don't.

Because the TEL is literally just a tractor trailer right now. If China truly would be the one to initiate conflict as they claim, Typhon, as it exists, would be useless as a defensive/retaliatory weapon. It's absurdly vulnerable, for something touted as an asset designed for peer/near-pear conflict.

Just a front for an American deployment with Pinoys shouldering most of the cost.

"Army chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido said plans were underway to acquire the MRC to protect the country’s sovereignty and exclusive economic zone (EEZ)."
"It is planned to be acquired because we see its feasibility and its functionality in our comprehensive archipelagic defense concept (CADC) implementation,” he said in a year-end press conference at the Army headquarters in Taguig City. [...]"
"The CADC is a defense strategy that requires the Philippine government to project its military capabilities throughout the Philippines’ 370-kilometer EEZ and other areas under its jurisdiction.[...]."

(So PH only wants to "protect 370km eez", but saying "wants mid range missile"?)
