I have a feeling that China is calling the bluff by US. US does not dare raise the stake in SCS because it is afraid that China is calling the bluff and US would be losing face if it backs off.

To face against most other countries, a threat by US is sufficient to get the way for the others to stand down but it is not working anymore.

In other news, PH is considering purchasing long-range missiles to threaten Chinese mainland cities.

Literally the same energy as "We finally have the Agni-V ICBM! We finally can threaten Beijing with nuclear warheads! Jai Hind!" - As if Beijing hasn't been the bullseye for many American and Soviet nuclear-tipped ICBMs and nuclear-armed bombers for many decades.

Similarly, as if Chinese cities have never been threatened by long-range missiles coming from the WestPac direction and the Soviet Russian Far East as long as long-range strike missiles exist. Laughable.

This guy Manalo is stupid if he thinks Wang Yi can be convinced by Manalo's belief. So Manalo does not know if the missiles are permanent or temporary. Just another asinine pledge from the Philippines.

As expected. Never trust Philippines asinine words on withdrawal of the missile system.

The Philippine Army, in July, stated that the Mid-Range Missile System would be

However, the statement was retracted days later, with the Army explaining that the system

depending on the output of the Salaknib training exercises between the US and Philippine militaries.

“Actually, wala siyang specific na [date ng] alis. Ang nasabi ko dati is 'yung Salaknib will be culminated by September. However every after 'yung Salaknib, magkakaroon ng training evaluation if the objectives of the exercise have been met. Kapag hindi pa name-meet 'yung objectives, possible this will still continue na,” said Army spokesperson Colonel Louie Dema-ala.

The PH Navy and Coast Guard do not have enough naval assets to occupy the entirety of Chinese Nansha territories. So I think its a good idea to start sending additional ships on a permanent deployment to adjacent features on Xianbin Jiao to further distract Filipino warplanners.

All this ramming but that ship is still in the shoal. I don't think ramming is going to work anymore. China will have to escalate. Directly towing the ship away is probably the next course of action
