I don't think they will realistically use clubs to beat Indians. Rather they will just be used to softly ward intruding hordes away after crowd control weapons get most of them running. Like how Indians softly ward cows off the roads with sticks. So long as no nuclear nation is invading each other it shouldn't be an issue, border skirmishes shouldn't instigate nukes. This medieval combat is pretty interesting, we some how went back in time, all the fantasy fair folk will be rushing to China and India now to enact their deepest fantasy. But this who has the pointier stick thing is pretty ridiculous when its getting to this stage, just shoot if you got to shoot. It's completely in the realm of something India wants and is delving into, China's response to India's plays so far has been top notch.
When did China ever initiate with deadly force against India in recent time? Every time indians died, it was because they were suppressed with crowd control and caused casualties through stampede, not because Chinese troops were bashing in their skulls. And that time when Indian units killed a Bhutanese or possibly Chinese civilian worker, it seems that the perpetrators were shot execution style by the PLA but further weapons were again not used besides the standard means of warding indians away from places they shouldn't be in.
You can use these spiked clubs to push away intruders non lethally. In that case, the spikes are only to scare the crowd, not cause injury, as there won't be enough force to cause bleeding.
